Meet the Team

Kim

Business Office Manager

Here at Kirkland Dental I manage all business areas for the practice. Accounts payable/receivables, payroll, taxes, employee benefits, etc. I began working in dentistry in 1993 as a sterilization/office assistant. I have worked at Kirkland Dental since 1994. I love being able to help the doctors and my coworkers with whatever they need to help their day go smoother. I feel blessed to be a part of such a great office. We are all committed to providing our patients with the best care possible.

I married my high school sweetheart, Mike in 1994. We live in Lake Stevens with our two children, Mikayla and Jacob, and our two dogs Bella and Rusty. We enjoy watching our son at his football games, basketball games, and track meets. We enjoy spending time at our family cabin in Plane, WA.

Laurie

Patient Care Coordinator

My responsibilities our treatment planning, collecting copays, scheduling patients next treatment, insurance, and answering the phone. I have been working in dentistry since 1983 and began working at Kirkland Dental in 2014. I majored in speech communications from Oregon State University in 1991. My father was a dentist. I worked with him starting at age 15 until he retired in 2013. I love making a difference in someone’s day. If I can make someone smile, it truly makes me happy.

I have been a Kirkland resident since I married the man of my dreams in 1995. We have three teenage boys Noah, Elijah, and Jackson. I spend most of my time going to my kids sporting events. When not at the ballpark, track meet, wrestling match, swim meet, basketball game, etc. We love going to the movies. Life is good!

Bobbi

Treatment Coordinator

My job at Kirkland Dental is to answer phones, schedule appointments, post insurance and private payments, and all other front office duties that keep us running smoothly. I started my dental career in 1999 and started working at Kirkland Dental in 2016. I am lucky to be working for a great office with an amazing staff in the actual community that I have lived in for the past 20+ years. I can’t imagine doing anything else. I have found a wonderful family environment and highest level of patient care at Kirkland Dental. I am honored and excited about working in an office with the most current and advanced technology in today’s dentistry. Patients are treated like family.

When not working, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and short road trips seeing the NW wonders and beauty with my boyfriend Dave. My boys are 19 and 24 and born and raised in Kirkland. Both graduated from Juanita High School. I have spent many years watching baseball, basketball, and soccer games. I miss that now, but love watching them become amazing young men.

Tina

Dental Hygienist

I love being a dental hygienist at Kirkland Dental! Dr. Yagi, Dr. Ma, and our team are warm, friendly, and professional. We all want what’s best for our patients and to help each person achieve healthy, beautiful smiles! My patients and their families are my friends and I look forward to catching up during visits just as much as I look forward to meeting new people and learning who they are.

I work one-to-one with patients, providing a range of preventive care. In addition to thorough and gentle cleanings, I take X-rays, apply fluoride and sealants, and administer local anesthetic. A lot of my day is focused on patient education: I teach people about the connection between oral and overall health. Together, we develop a homecare plan, including developing good habits and making healthy nutrition choices, so they can improve their smile’s health. Seeing a healthy, bright, happy smile at a recall visit makes my day!

My husband Craig and I have been married for more than 30 years. We met at a dental convention. He currently works in the dental implant field. We have two adult children, Garrett and Akemi, just rescued two dogs, Blanca and Shiro, and have a cat named Mitzi. I love to entertain family and friends, and am an avid cook and gardener. I also love to travel, dance, and snow and water ski.

Julie

Dental Assistant

I am a chairside dental assistant helping our doctors provide dental care to our patients and sterilizing our dental instruments. I started working in dentistry in 1989 and have been here at Kirkland Dental since 2009. I graduated in 1989 from Lake WA Technical Institute with a certificate in dental assisting. I have worked with Dr. Teresa Yagi from 1989-1994 and returned in 2009. I enjoy getting to know our patients and helping them with their dental fears and goals. The doctors at Kirkland Dental are passionate about their job and the staff all care about each other on a personal level making it a great place to work.

I enjoy spending time with my four kids and grandson. In my leisure time, I love working out, dancing, learning guitar, and worshipping the sun.

Jody

Lead Dental Assistant

I provide chairside assistance to all our doctors during dental procedures, order supplies, maintain equipment, and help ensure our back office runs smoothly. In 1998 I began working part time as a sterilization technician and made it my full-time career in 2000. I happily joined Kirkland Dental in 2014.

My favorite part of my job is getting to establish relationships with patients and their families. I love working with the Kirkland Dental team because everyone here is very knowledgeable about their work and have fun doing it.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband Mike and our two children Jordan and Nicole. Did I mention I love food!?

Kate

Certified Dental Assistant

I love working with Dr. Yagi, Dr. Ma, and the team at Kirkland Dental! We’re all close friends and are committed to helping each patient as we would help a family member. Our patients are always treated gently, with respect and compassion, and we work hard to build strong friendships with each person.

As a Certified Dental Assistant, I work in our clinic. I sterilize instruments and equipment, prepare the treatment area, and seat our patient. Making sure our patient is comfortable, I explain what we’ll be doing and prep them for their procedure. Then I stay chairside, acting as a second pair of hands for the doctor. At the same time, I keep our patient updated on what’s happening and check that they’re relaxed. When we’re finished, I offer homecare instructions, answer questions, and always check that our patient is happy with the care we’ve provided.

My life is shared with my Maltese, Winnie: she is my world! I love practicing hot yoga, and hiking, snowboarding, and working out. I also enjoy volunteering with a non-profit youth group.
